Welcome back to a new school year at Brookwood! We have had a great first week!
Thank you for all of the supplies you have sent in to help us begin our school year. I know it can be overwhelming, especially if you have more than one child. Please know I appreciate it greatly!
If you have not already signed up for our class' Remind 101 texts, please do so ASAP. This is the primary way that I can get information out to all parents at once. To sign up, please text the message @mrsrojas4 to (303) 219-0978.
We have been working on getting back into the school routine and classroom expectations. We are also "gathering seeds" for our Writer's notebooks that we will use this year. On Friday, we did an experiment in science where we used vinegar and baking soda to blow up a balloon on top of a bottle. Monday, we followed up this experiment with a second one called "Chalk Rockets". For this experiment, we mixed corn starch and water into a thick paste in a film canister and added food coloring. Then, we broke up one Alka-Seltzer tablet into small pieces, quickly put it into the canister, and popped on the lid. After setting the canister lid-side down on the sidewalk, we waited for the explosion!
